In His Shadow III - The NightmareRain fell from the sky. So heavy and dense that sight was near impossible. The only improvement was the occasional flash of lightning which illuminated the white stone gate, the sturdy wooden bridge closed tightly, impenetrable. Directly above it, the image of the Royal crest had been expertly carved into the stone; its raised surface cast slight shadows each time the lightning light struck it.In His Shadow III - The Nightmare by Emmaj26
The rapid pitter-patter sound of heavy raindrops crashing into the moat harmonized with the grumble of thunder. This was soon interrupted by a new sound; a rattling, metallic shake as the chains securing the drawbridge gave way. The bridge lowered quickly, slamming into place over the moat. From the dark corridor on the other side, a pinprick of white was visible, growing larger by the second.
Hooves clattered on cobblestone, a horse’s neigh echoed down the street; the next second, the pure white horse was galloping past him. He leaped aside, raising his head in time to see the rider
In His Shadow - Bonus ChapterHyrule was in a state of unease. The future of the kingdom looked bleak. The people had begun to lose hope. Even now, the forces that would destroy Hyrule marched upon her gates, ready to strike the final blow.In His Shadow - Bonus Chapter by Emmaj26
The King sat alone in his office, his head lowered, his eyes downcast. Outside, it rained. He had failed. He had failed his people. He had failed Hyrule. The war was not over. His army was faltering; their spirits had been stripped. The Gerudo forces approached his city, a dark shadow on the horizon.
The King raised his head; a slow, almost painful motion for him. His eyes were bloodshot, encircled by the darkness of insomnia. His white, withered hands shook like that of a man twice his age. Indeed, he did not look himself. He had aged decades in a single year.
Today should have been a day of celebration, but he could not find it in his heart to do so. How could he, when everything had crumbled so rapidly around him? His enemies grew stronger, thanks to his own foolish actions.
In His Shadow Prologue: The Goddess of TimeSweet, encompassing coolness filled the hall; a welcome contrast to the burning world outside the temple. Impossibly, it was undamaged by the fires just outside its stone walls, resisting all the world’s evils. In His Shadow Prologue: The Goddess of Time by Emmaj26
The heavy door closing behind him, he dropped to his knees, the pain blinding. He didn’t have much time, but he couldn’t stop his lungs from taking great heaving breaths, or his body from shaking.
He knew the Demon would make chase soon, after it discovered what had been done to its pet. Glancing down at his spoils from his encounter with the beast, he felt a small satisfaction. A large chunk of its deep blue, armor-like hide and its twin, curving tusks had scattered to the floor. Suitable trophies, he thought.
Struggling upwards with great difficulty, he placed gauntleted hands on his own head, gripping his helmet. He lifted it free, tossing it to the ground with the other objects. The clanging sound of it landing echoed in the hall as he stepped forward. Move

Shaiya straightened, wiping her brow in the summer heat. She leaned wearily against the side of the house, breathing heavily. Since her husband had been away, it had fallen to her to maintain the house, the garden, the livestock…and the children. She heard a high-pitched squeal and smiled fondly at her two sons, who were busy playing in the yard.
Her eldest son was nearly four now. Her youngest had turned a year old that spring. The infant was sitting on a blanket, watching his brother with curiosity, giggling occasionally. The dark-haired boy was preoccupied firing a slingshot at some squirrels in a nearby tree.
Shaiya knelt down and lifted the large bucket of water, having just refilled it at the pump. She carried it carefully inside and into the kitchen, setting it beside the sink. Her chore complete, she hurried outside, wiping her hands on her apron. She stopped when she noticed him doing something peculiar. H
Majora's Ghost - Chapter 8Chapter Eight: Dawn of the Second DayMajora's Ghost - Chapter 8 by VeanOracleofLight
Vean turned over in his straw bed, feeling too tired and sore to get up. Link could do enough damage when he wasn’t under the control of some laughing sorcerer and Vean hadn’t exactly fought back.
A rooster caw sounded and Vean sat up in annoyance. He rubbed his eyes, trying to clear his head. The room he was in was cramped and cluttered, rough drawings of grassy fields and oceans covering most of the wood paneling. It was his new friend Kafei’s room.
He started to feel a little claustrophobic in the small room so he made his way over to the door and opened it just a crack so that he could see into the main room of the house. He spotted Kafei’s grandmother walking around, probably making breakfast. She was right between him and the front door. Great, he thought tiredly. He was thankful that Cremia had given him a place to stay for the night, but he didn’t want to stay any longer than necessary. Especially
Majora's Ghost - Chapter 7Chapter Seven: Dozing OffMajora's Ghost - Chapter 7 by VeanOracleofLight
Vean’s usually sketchy memory was now filled with recollections of his parents. Things that he only remembered vaguely before came to him with crystal clarity and things he had forgotten long before coming down with amnesia returned to him as well. The man before him was more than a memory though. This man was a living breathing image of his dad. His hair was long, brown, and flopped over his forehead. His eyes were dark green and very expressive under his thick eyebrows.
“Your dad?” the man said as he looked over Vean’s head back in the direction they had come. “Was he in the canyon back there?”
Vean blinked, at a loss for words. Yes, his dad had been in that canyon. His dad was standing before him right now, but the man didn’t know it. This man, Rohe, didn’t know who Vean was at all. How was that at all possible?
“Kid, was your father in that canyon with you?” he asked again, putting his hand

Vean thought back to the times when he had nearly killed Link as Malum and almost felt that this was some sort of payback. Link charged forward and swung his blade at his brother with a broad swing. Vean dove aside, but he then had to roll sideways as Link brought his blade straight down on him.
“Link, what are you doing?” Vean asked as he got to his feet and backed away. “It’s me, your brother Vean.”
There wasn’t any change in Link’s blank expression. The Fierce Deity before him hardly looked like his brother. The masked sorcerer’s annoying high pitched laugh rang through the silence. “Once the Fierce Deity finishes you off, I’ll only have one hero to worry about,” the man chuckled. “I’m glad that Kurai told me about you. Destroying you both separately wouldn’t have been as much fun.”
Link swung his sword again, but this time a slice of light shot out of it and h
Majora's Ghost - Chapter 1Chapter One: Dawn of the First DayMajora's Ghost - Chapter 1 by VeanOracleofLight
Vean was woken up by the feeling of the sun on his face. The feeling startled him and he opened his eyes to see that the morning was already halfway over. He sat up abruptly, causing his little sailboat to sway back and forth on the water. The other small boy aboard, who had been sitting hazardously balanced on the edge of the boat, cried out with the effort of not falling into the ocean.
“Yoru?” Vean remembered as he brushed his floppy blond hair from his face. “What are you doing? You were supposed to wake me up long before morning.”
Yoru climbed to a more stable position in the boat and put his hand back on the tiller just as Vean had shown him to do last night. “I did try to wake you up,” the boy explained. “But you didn’t hear me.”
Vean highly doubted that notion. He was usually a very light sleeper, but then again, yesterday had been a very trying day. An evil demigoddess, her undergro

Part 1: Hey!
Jennifer was standing in a rather dimly lit room. There was no natural light, no windows to be seen in this part of the building, only the flashing and flickering of machines... They lined the walls from one end to the other and seemed to go on forever. Each room seemed to be identical from the last and the machines from a distance with their clicks, beeps and whistles all seemed to be the same as well. They looked like coffins on legs and she did not like it here...
She knew no one and couldn't tell even if she did it was so dark. People seemed to be completely engaged with the machines; slapping, pushing, bumping and laughing as they did so. Others were dead silent, as if they were in a trance, while others still looked down right mean with dark hoods over their heads as they grunted and cursed, sweated and shoved, banged and thrust their heavy weight against them, the metal whining against their rough calloused hand
LoZ: Letters From Home...LoZ: Letters From Home... by LinkNZeldaForever
Link stood at attention, his back and shoulders rigid, his legs straight but slightly bent in an effort not to pass out. He was drenched in sweat breathing heavily, his uniform being weighed down from many layers of encrusted mud, filth and dirt. His whole body ached something fierce from the long arduous road marches, doing dangerous field exercises and also being worked to death for any minor grievance such as sneezing or coughing out of turn, not to mention when other guys did worse offenses, the group as a whole seemed to get punished for just one person's actions...
They were back at the garrison now, although some more of the bad weeds and the weak had been cut from their ranks, while others who had been injured were recuperating at the medics. Most of the unmarried men and even some who were, always talked about the nurses and the only place around for a hundred miles that you could see a good looking dame was at the clinic...
LoZ: Chains That Bind Part 1Part 1: Delusions of Grandeur...LoZ: Chains That Bind Part 1 by LinkNZeldaForever
Link was in his happy place... He was with his beautiful loving wife Zelda, just finishing a wonderful picnic in Hyrule field under a tree and it had been the perfect day for it. By now the sun was going downward on it's long journey, leaving the breeze cool to the touch. The young lovers were holding one another staring into each others eyes, with Link already lost in hers, something that happened quite often... Such a beautiful hazel they were and her dark wavy hair from time to time would blow gently across her pale face, giving her a mysterious look that drove him absolutely crazy. Such perfect eloquent features she had... Every man in the kingdom had wanted her, but most would have wished for the title of “Prince” and the power it would wield, the vast amounts of fortunes that were in the royal coffers or simply to “have” her...
But Link was different... He didn't

Out in the wide open clear sky, a pair of two beautiful large birds soared across the sky gracefully. They glided along with the smooth air currents effortlessly, the warm comforting air ruffling against their feathers. The large birds were quite noticeable, not only because they were the only birds out in the early morning sky, but mostly because their bright, distinctive colors. One of the two avians was a beautiful shade of blue-purple, while its partner in flight, which it had grown accustomed to flying with, had a distinctive bright red. But, the birds were not alone. Atop their backs were also a distinctive pair themselves. Two that were the best of friends. Inseparable.
Link glanced over at Zelda, looking ever so beautiful as the sun shone down on her, making her look like a pink angel, her golden locks softly flowing in the wind. She returned the look and smiled. Oh, that lovely smile he adored so much. Just looking at it made his heart want to
SoonI woke up again in the early morning because of that dream. It had continued for a month already. But it didn't bother me. If I'd managed to actually feel something, I guess I'd felt that dream pretty safe. It would have been safe, because I know what was going to happen, and who was it talking to me in the dream. "Can you hear me?" she had said the first time I saw the dream.
"Yes", I answered, and then she told me her name. She asked, had I ever been wondering, why didn't I actually feel anything.
"No", I said, "I've never wondered about it. There is 98% chance there's a reason for that."
"Yes... Yes indeed", she laughed and if I'd been able to see her, I's seen her smiling. "You feel nothing, because you were born to serve me and your master", she explained. I asked how did I actually serve her. She told me, I didn't. Yet. She told me, the time hasn't come yet.
"When does it come?" I questioned.
"Soon..." she said, and then I woke up.

Chapter one: Dawn of a new world.
Before the beginnings of Time, there was nothing but Chaos.
From the Nothingness emerged streams of energy, glimpses of Things That Could Be But Were Not, before returning to the Emptiness.
There, were the Godesses of Old, the Three Maidens of Virtue: Din, whose Power was absolute, Nayru, who held infinite Wisdom, and Farore, whose heart was filled with unshakeable Courage.
The Golden Maidens laid their eyes on the inform mass of the Chaos, and saw the Void waiting to be filled. The Three Divine Sisters were displeased by the sight, and Nayru, with her great Wisdom, decided to shape the World.
She told her sisters of her plan, and all agreed.
Din was the first one to stand: in a swift movement, She cut her fiery hair and laid it in the Void. From her hair grew the Red Earth, and with her mighty Power She shaped the ground. With her flaming hands She sculpted the mountains and dug the seabeds; She prepared the rich soils of the plains a
Timeless love"Link... Link!"Timeless love by Zeliga
The White Goddess bowed down and took the cold skinned hero in her arms. She could not hear the man's heart beating anymore. The Goddess spoke to him softly. Explaining the hero's destiny. Explaining his painful life full of suffering.
Even she knew, Link wouldn't hear.
A sparkling tear rolled down the Goddess Hylia's cheek and dropped on the face of the hero. The goddess regretted her choice. Her people were saved now, yes, but she had sacrificed a very good man.
The man she had loved the most of her people.
The man, she still loved.
The man, who had loved her back.
Another tear dropped.
A tear of the Goddess.
"I will ensure that your gentle, heroic spirit will live on eternally..." she quietly promised to her hero while more tears fell down.
Drip, drop. Drip, drop.
The silent cry of the Goddess.
Her voice had turned only to a whisper. "And I..." she said, "I shall shed my divinity. The next time we meet, I wish to stand before you as a simple human..."
Hylia wanted to

It repeats through the emptiness of the forest. In the depths of Faron.
When will death come? I do not know.
All that remains in the depths is a small lake, gleaming in the sun. I sit at the edge, waiting. And waiting.
Waiting. Waiting to Patience. Patience... to agony. Agony to death.
I'm rambling, I know. Anxiety makes me feel like I must talk. Am I crazy? I would not believe so. You may think. But you do not know me. The agony I feel in my experience close to the claws of death, is hard to grasp.
But who really knows about death, and lives to tell the tale?
I just wish...
The Legend of Zelda: Unfrozen - Chapter 2The Legend of Zelda: Unfrozen - Chapter 2 by lyoth737
Normal morning passes by. Normally not much is remembered correctly what is done the day before whereas the day tomorrow equalled the previous except for either very immense memory capability, a daily diary.
Or if the memory is treasured because it was only little time until an alteration occurred, either an environmental or personally one.
Nevertheless, the matter that one of the stronger members that inhabited the petty, half decayed accumulation of houses surrounded by loads of patched up protection wall and two small watch-towers in dirty white and equally buried beneath knee-high snow coverlet was being killed in an monster's attack three days ago barely contaminated the daily program. The sighting post on both sides needed to be recruited with sharp eyes, the hick town's smith fire and only really source of comfortable warmth of the whole village wanted to be fed and the animals needed a feeding hand full with dry cornstalks of wheat that grew in the l

Zelda Rp chap 7When they awoke, Kensou packed up everything, waiting until the last moment to wake up Kara.Zelda Rp chap 7 by freak4zelda
"Kara," she said shaking her. "Kara, its time to get up.
"Nngh." she said. Groggily, she got up, making sure she had everything. Her face went pale as she reached behind her belt.
"Oh no!" Kara screamed nearly tearing her things apart to find her missing item.
"What is it?" Kensou said looking at her strangely.
"My knife! I always kept it behind my belt!" she ran around frantically.
A small glint seemed to catch Kensou's eye. "Is this it?" he said holding up a fairly large knife with a leather cover.
Kara took it happily, but her eyes faded into a trance. "This was my father's. Actually, he never wanted a girl, he wanted a boy, to carry on this ancient piece of ancestry. But I didn't want to be the daughter he never wanted, so I had him train me who to fight and in exchange I taught him how to control his temper heh, I miss that old geezer " her smile was small, but bright and fu

"No, a few months ago, almost half a year. Still, I don't think the soldiers will be happy to see me." He smiled slightly. "I still outrank them, even though I retired."
"I'm not surprised, most of these soldiers just become one for glory, and money. They don't care for Hyrule's safety at all!"
He laughed. "That they don't. I wonder, if you've been in Hyrule for awhile........" He trailed off.
"What?" the silver haired girl was getting anxious.
He looked a little embarrassed, and stared straight ahead. "Well, have you seen... the swordsman named Link?"
Kara turned her head to look at Kensou. "Well, yes, I've seen him, didn't get a chance to introduce myself though. Then again, he wasn't too famous at that time." Kara chuckled at her own statement.

Game TimeOnce upon a time, in a land known as Hyrule, the hero, Link, sat on the edge of a little fishing hole on his one day off that month. He noticed storm clouds on the horizon, and hoped that they would stay away until he had caught at least a couple fish. Even though the fish bit better in the rain, it wasn't exactly a picnic to sit in the freezing rain waiting for them. As he looked at his reflection in the pond, he noticed a raindrop had disturbed his reflection in the water that was smooth as glass a moment ago. hmm...well, i don't really know how to explain this.....
well the zelda games are pretty much the thing that gave me the most "inspiration" for my art and such. If you ask one of my friends, they will tell you how much of my sketchbook is filled with zelda drawings.
this kinda explains why my username is "freak4zelda" i chose it due to the amount of zelda artwork stuffed in my "gallery" and yeah....that's pretty much it....

urm.....well, i can't really say that i saw my first legend of zelda game on a shelf, thought i'd buy it to try it out, and suddenly fall in love with it. My siblings first played the game and its wasn't until years later that i had a chance.
My first one was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and by the time i got to play it, i had already known where and what everything was (though the forest temple always gave me a hard time....). And with that i can't

How could she weigh the piercing, bespectacled glare of Shad, a comment that there's no need for swordsmen in a time of peace, and the frightened stares of a handful of customers over the monumental deeds of the hero of all Hyrule?!The Hero's Dilemma Chapter 1 by AngstOfZant
